WE ALL NEED TO BUILD

Life bombards us with unexpected transitions. From climate change to ageing parents, from the phone in our pocket to international relations. Whether real and present or sensed in the future, transitions can make us feel uncomfortable and unsafe.

My own life has been full of transitions — in my work and career, in my family and business, in my health and well-being. I have had to make uncomfortable choices in order to assure my work or my family or my business remained safe and viable. These moments have been tough at times, but they led me to discover the essential nature of resilience.

Resilience to me is about that moment when you decide to move on, choose the strategy that you feel is best, and have the confidence to take the action.

It doesn’t mean that life suddenly becomes more comfortable. It does mean that you will never again confuse comfort with safety.

Today, you can decide to move on.
