AI and Human Learning a Match Made in Heaven?
Organization effectiveness has always been tied to members’ expertise in the work of the organization, their interest and curiosity in improving it, their inspiration in the organizational mission, and their creativity in achieving organization goals in new ways.
With the explosion of artificial intelligence, the challenge is at hand: how can we use AI to enhance human learning and development? How can we avoid the potential downsides of AI reducing human learning and creativity.
My guest today is Robert M. Burnside. Robert’s career has developed understanding of leadership, learning and life. He has a distinguished career beginning at Wrangler Jeans and on to the Center for Creative Leadership, Ketchum Public Relations, and Nomadic Learning. His focus – adult learning and development. He’ll talk about how HR can use AI to help staff grow and develop new skills for work that AI can’t do.
He’ll talk about:
What differentiates humans from AI.
Why HR is not using AI well.
How HR can better use AI to help staff already on board learn.
The impact of AI if misused

What some of my guests have said…
“You ask intriguing questions of intriguing people. The other thing I would say about why I find what you are doing of value is that you’ve got people talking about angles that often get overlooked in my experience. reflection, origin stories, passion: … they get closest to our humanity.” T. J. Eliott
“[Madelyn’s] deep and insightful questions allowed me to discuss topics in a multidimensional manner. As a result, we had a rich, interesting and very dynamic conversation. At the same time, Madelyn was kind, respectful, made me feel comfortable and welcomed.” Miriam Zylberglait, MD
“It was such a delight to be in conversation with Madelyn. Her genuine interest in my work and the benefits it can bring, shows her to be utterly open to all possibilities in real terms and not just as a theory. She brought out the total best in me.” Angie Wakeman, Clown Facilitator
“Madelyn’s questions shook off cobwebs in my mind on topics that were critical to my life successes that I haven’t thought about in years – topics that are still applicable today. I hope one day for a return invitation. In the meantime, she can count me as a new listener to her show!” Michael Hillman, Executive Director Emmitsburg News Journal
